Police search for 2 who burglarized Cubaocho Museum and Performing Arts Center in Miami – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MIAMI (WSVN) – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying two Christmas bandits out of Miami.

Surveillance video captured the crooks stealing from the Cubaocho Museum and Performing Arts Center near Southwest 14th Avenue and Eighth Street, Friday.

“Early in the morning, 3 a.m., two guys go inside my business,” said Cubaocho Museum and Performing Arts Center owner Roberto Ramos.

Ramos said he does not recognize the two men who burglarized his business while he was on vacation.

Detectives said they got away with cigars, alcohol bottles and art worth a total of more than $50,000.

“Romeo and Juliet is empty, empty this, empty this,” Ramos said. “I had another piece here. It was a big one, the same artist. It was beautiful. It was a museum piece, only one piece, original. He take it.”

Cameras showed the burglars ransacking the business for around an hour.

“Here, here, here, this is empty, too,” said Ramos. “I think the guy, he know the place. He go into the cigar. He go to the bar. He go everywhere. I feel bad. I feel bad, man, but I’m working. I’m working again, and next year is a new year.”

Detectives want other business owners to learn from this incident because they said the men got inside the establishment easily because the door was left unlocked.

“Yeah, the problem is the door was a little open, and the guy go inside, open the door and go inside,” said Ramos. “I’ve stayed here 14 years, and that’s the first time they stole in my business.”

If you have any information on the identities of these two men, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
