NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – Officials are investigating a police-involved shooting that took place in North Miami Beach.
It happened near Northeast 172nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard, Thursday afternoon.
Aventura Police and North Miami Beach Police both responded to the scene.
Police have not said what agency the officer who fired his weapon is with.
An aerial view of the scene shows a red and vehicle blocked off by police tape. The back window of the red vehicle appears to have been shot out, and what appears to be blood could be seen on the ground.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue also responded to the scene. They said the call at that address came in as a medical call, possibly in reference to a dog bite and a traffic incident. Two people were taken to Aventura Hospital as trauma alerts.
Biscayne Boulevard near 172nd Street has been closed while police work the scene
