Former Miami-Dade Police employee caught on camera making anti-Semitic rant in Boca Raton – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

(WSVN) – A woman who worked for the law has found herself on the other side of it — and it’s not the first time. In this case, she was involved in an alarming confrontation caught on camera.

The retired Miami-Dade Police employee was caught on video going on a racist rant. It happened over the weekend in Boca Raton.

The woman spewed anti-Semitic words at a driver while wearing a Miami-Dade Homicide jacket.

The language contained in the video, which circulated on social media, has been considered very disturbing.

“Move your [expletive] car, you stupid Jew!” the woman yelled.

Officials said what you hear in the video is bad enough, but saying it while wearing a jacket with the words “Miami-Dade Homicide” on the back makes it even worse.

The woman ranting and raving in the video was recorded last month outside of a Boca Raton restaurant has been identified as Leslie Socolov.

Not only is she a retired civilian employee of the Miami-Dade Police Department — according to the arrest record filed by Boca Raton Police, she’s also Jewish.

The woman appeared to be upset with an SUV driver who stopped in the street.

“Just because you’re Jewish and a Democrat doesn’t give you the right to stay there! Move it!” Socolov yelled.

Socolov was arrested in Boca Raton.

The arresting officer reported: “The female had slurred speech and could not maintain her balance without holding on to her vehicle.”

And her breathalizer test that day was almost twice the legal limit.

The Miami-Dade Police Department later denounced her actions in a tweet Tuesday night.

Director Alfredo Ramirez of the Miami-Dade Police Department released his own statement on Twitter saying, “I deeply value the strong relationship that has been developed with our Jewish community. I assure you that the behavior captured on the video circulating on social media is not what the men and women of the MDPD represent.”

Socolov is the same woman behind a deadly hit-and-run back in May 2015.

According to reports, she hit and killed a homeless man, 70-year-old Vietnam veteran Richard James Flaherty, along Northeast 199th Street in Aventura.

Socolov eventually turned herself in to Aventura Police. Charges were never filed in the case.

A woman who saw the 2015 scene couldn’t believe Socolov didn’t stay to offer help.

“They didn’t even stay, and that’s the worst part about it. That’s somebody’s family, you know? That’s terrible. It’s bad,” she said at the time.

Leslie has been charged by Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office with a DUI and disorderly conduct.
